Fernando Padilla

After more than 22 years in the garment manufacturing & embroidery equipment industry, Fernando Padilla and Stitch City Industries have been recognized as a global innovator and leader in his field. In 1988, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from  ITT Technical Institute of  Technology and continuing on to Cal State Fullerton. Shortly thereafter, Fernando Padilla relocated and held key positions with Barudan America in Greensboro NC, Tajima West in Los Angeles CA and Hirsch International in Hauppauge NY, all embroidery equipment manufacturers and distributors.  In 1999 when NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act) changed the manufacturing landscape in the USA, Padilla identified an opportunity and formed Stitch City Industries an international export company of pre-owned embroidery machines. Padilla then cemented a distribution relationship with Brother International, a global presence of sewing and embroidery equipment. In 2005, Brother International unveiled direct to garment printers, a new exciting T- shirt printing platform.  Padilla recognized the new emerging POD (Print On Demand) manufacturing environment this technology created and used his years of expertise to his advantage. “Printing onto T-shirts is a given with these new printers” commented Padilla. “We needed to differentiate ourselves by thinking beyond this simple substrate and began the sketching, tweaking and long hours of development”.  As a result Padilla is now recognized as an innovator of garment printing technology by expanding the capabilities. His patented inventions include printing capabilities on footwear, head wear, mammoth (oversized) and numerous other applications for the Brother Garment GT782 and GT541 garment printers. All industry first!
